Enabling people to work together more effectively in education, research and practice.
|
What do I do?I support researchers and educators in communicating across disciplines, designing learner-centred materials, and integrating language and communication skills into multi- and interdisciplinary academic contexts. I also design and deliver training programmes for professionals and organisations outside academia—supporting effective communication, inclusive participation, and international collaboration.
Across all of this work, my focus is on enabling people to work together more effectively—by making communication clearer, more inclusive, and better aligned with the contexts in which people learn, teach, and collaborate.
I do this as an independent consultant and materials developer as well as in my role as Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna.
|
As a lecturer, professional development trainer, and consultant, I work with universities and other higher education institutions to support the effective integration of language and communication skills into technical and business curricula. I also support academic staff through workshops and editorial services that help them fully engage as members of the international scientific community.

Scientific Writing About... Scientific Writing: Evaluating Discourse

It was a real pleasure to work with Paul. He has an outstanding expertise of in-depth copy editing of EU project proposals and provided an excellent and careful guiding for the design of our application. Although we thought to have a clear set of ideas for the content of our text, he improved the strategic outline with perfect formulations and the appropriate style for the call. We were amazed by the product which came out.

I participated in the training on “Grants and Funding Applications – Writing Proposals in English” by Paul Talbot and found it great! The training was clear and well-structured and the content both interesting and useful. Although it took place online, Paul managed to keep it interactive, organized constructive and fun group exercises and managed to create a real group dynamic. All along, he was very attentive to our questions and needs and prepared a very complete training documentation that I will definitely use for my future projects. I enjoyed this training a lot and can only recommend it!

He demonstrated critical skills, is highly intelligent and has good analytical and communication skills. Paul often went above and beyond in his assignments and his innovative contributions helped us greatly to achieve effective project results.
